Ebenezer Programs
residential care
The Ebenezer Christian Children’s Home Residential Foster Care Program provides community-based care, support, and supervision on a short- or long-term basis to clients living in a group setting. ECCH Residential Care services allow clients a safe, stable, community-based living arrangement. ECCH seeks to provide services through coordinated partnerships between residents, communities, families (where legally permitted), and community service providers in order to ensure that services and supports are family-driven, client-guided, strength-based, culturally and linguistically competent, individualized, and consistent with ECCH research on sustained positive outcomes. The ECCH Residential Care program provides services consistent with the mission statement of the organization.
Clients served in the Residential Care Program are clients age birth through 21 years who have need of basic care such as food, clothing, safety, structure, and love and have been determined to have been abused, neglected, or declared dependent. The ECCH Residential Care Program accepts children that are in North Carolina Department of Social Services custody or private placements. ECCH recognizes that the vast majority of clients in the Residential Care program have been adjudicated as abuse or neglected, and therefore should receive trauma-informed care that addresses the specific needs of each client.
foster care
The Ebenezer Christian Children’s Home Foster Care Program works with legal guardians, foster parents, and children to provide children with safe, stable, nurturing, and often temporary care in foster homes licensed through the state of North Carolina. The ECCH Foster Care Program provides care that promotes the child’s well-being and ensures strong connections with family, peers, and community. When children are separated from their families due to maltreatment or other family circumstances, ECCH’s Foster Care Program provides services and supports to ensure each child has safe and nurturing relationships that will endure over time.
ECCH’s foster families are trained according to NC licensing standards and ECCH policies. Foster parents volunteer to bring children into their families and give them opportunities for family and community living. Foster parents are recruited, assessed, selected, credentialed, trained and retained for this voluntary role. Foster parents always care for children in the custody of DSS and serve as partners in child protection, well-being, and permanency.

adoption
Ebenezer Christian Children's Home only conducts adoption with foster families licensed through the state of North Carolina. Our goal is to support reunification, and a little over half of the children we serve in foster care are reunified with their birth family. We will support our foster families who are interested in pursuing adoption of their foster children if the court decides that the children cannot return home. Because we value the importance of achieving permanency for each child, we do provide the hopeful adoptive families with an adoption home study or PPA (pre-placement assessment) at no charge for families who have become licensed through Ebenezer. We also provide filing services and coordination of post adoption services when needed. The Ebenezer family been blessed to assist many children in finding their forever families, however we only provide adoption services for children in foster care. The Ebenezer family does not provide adoption services for international adoption or private adoptions. ECCH reserves the option to conduct private home studies for adoptions.
